M. Manze Pie and Mash on Tower Bridge Road is the world's most famous pie-and-mash shop, and one of the most popular London attractions with those tourists looking to experience the taste of old fashioned working-class London.

 

The shop serves traditionally-prepared pie and mash in liquor (parsley sauce) as well as jellied eels and stewed eels: the food of Cockneys,(a name of people who live in East London.)

 

Pie and Mash shops  have greatly declined since the heights of the 20th century, but the legendary M. Manze pie and mash shop on Tower Bridge Road remains open, more than a century after it opened in 1902.

 

M. Manze still cook the food using the traditional methods, with all food made fresh on the premises each day.
