Harrods is probably the most famous store in the world, attracting countless London tourists each year.

 

 A staggering 15 million people visit Harrods each year. Harrods is based in the central London district of Knightsbridge, one of the wealthiest areas in the world.

 

The store is owned by the famous businessman, Mohamed Al-Fayed, whose son was in a relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales, at the time of her death in 1997.

 

The memorial to the couple has become one of Harrods’ most popular attractions. Harrods has over 330 different departments and occupies a vast shopping space of over one million square feet. The store traces its history back to 1834 when it was established by the East End businessman, Charles Henry Harrod. The store has spent the subsequent two centuries establishing a global reputation for luxury, class and elegance.
